Best Wordpress Anti-Spam Plugin

I am looking for a good anti spam plugin for wordpress.

• I have akisment, but want to stop the bots even before then.
• I have used Challenge (math equation - but that does not even slow em down.
• I tried Captcha Godfather, but it does not work properly.
• I tried antispam image plugin - still no joy.

Anyone have a spam bot proof one they can suggest?
